Ear-Buddy! has an aim to create a mobile application which is a safe & nonjudgemental online community space. Ear-Buddy! will match people one to one by using demographics, mutual hobbies & interests whilst bringing collaborative gamification to enhance your interactions and time connection together and develop new friends as national ear-buddies.

At Ear-Buddy! we understand anyone can find themselves struggling with loneliness or social isolation caused by several different circumstances and particular anxieties can also make it harder to find new friends or company. We feel using the Ear-Buddy! personality matching system we have developed a way to address this problem many people experience.

By using Ear-Buddy! and connecting with each other Ear-Buddy! has several house rules which have been created to keep interactions pleasant, our 3 main house rules are empathy, acceptance & respect. We expect Empathy to be shown to each other as people using Ear-Buddy! are all looking for the same outcome, to find new friends and company. By using acceptance for one another we believe that interactions will have a friendly outcome. Respecting each other whilst developing new friendships can go a long way in helping people who are initially feeling anxious around developing new friends.

Empathy

Empathy is like stepping into someone else’s shoes and feeling what they’re feeling. It’s not just understanding someone’s emotions; it’s also about connecting with them on an emotional level. When you empathize, you’re tuning in to how someone else is experiencing the world, whether they’re happy, sad or scared.

Acceptance

Acceptance is like giving a warm hug to reality, exactly as it is. It’s about acknowledging and embracing things just the way they are, whether they’re good or not-so-good. When you practice acceptance, you’re letting go of the struggle against what’s happening and choosing to flow with it instead.

Respect

Respect is like giving a high-five to someone’s worth and dignity. It’s about recognizing and valuing the unique qualities, beliefs, and boundaries of others. When you show respect, you’re treating people with kindness, consideration, and fairness, regardless of differences. It’s about listening to their thoughts and understanding their feelings, even if they’re different from your own.
